Sensex, Nifty open in green; Axis drags, Reliance & Aurobindo up -- 6 Oct 2016

                                       
The market has opened in green. The Sensex is up 86.22 points or 0.3 percent at 28307.20, and the Nifty is up 24.75 points or 0.3 percent at 8768.70. About 448 shares have advanced, 90 shares declined, and 28 shares are unchanged.

Reliance, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Tata Motors and L&T are top gainers while Axis Bank, Cipla, Coal India, Infosys and Dr Reddy's Labs are losers in the Sensex. 

The Indian rupee opened marginally lower at 66.56 per dollar on Thursday versus 66.50 Wednesday.

The 30-share index was trading 30 points higher or 0.11 per cent at 28,250. It touched a high of 28,324.54 and a low of 28,249.63 in morning trade. 

The Nifty50 was trading at 8,744 up 2 points or 0.01 per cent. It touched a high of 8,768 and a low of 8,741.35 in the first 30 minutes of trade. 

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.30 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.43 per cent up. 

ONGC (up 1 per cent), RIL (up 1 per cent), Power Grid (up 0.6 per cent), HUL (up 0.65 per cent), and Tata Motors (up 0.65 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers. 

Axis Bank (down 1.6 per cent), Coal India (down 0.6 per cent), SBI (down 0.56 per cent) and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (down 0.46 per cent) were the major Sensex losers.
